Gold Rush in the North East at the 2018 RACV Victorian Tourism Awards

Falls Creek Alpine Resort is extremely proud to be recognised at the 2018 RACV Victorian Tourism Awards as the winner of the Major Tourist Attraction category and taking home the gold.
The ceremony, held at Melbourne Crown Palladium on November 22nd, are Victoria’s highest honour for tourism businesses across the state.

Falls Creek Alpine Resort Management Board CEO Stuart Smythe said “The award is a tribute to the outstanding performance and year-round hard work of the Falls Creek Resorts stakeholders, business operators and the resort management team, all of whom collectively share the vision and passion of the resort and its primary goal of being Australia’s premier all seasons alpine resort”.

Victoria’s North East featured strongly on the evening, with numerous finalists and runners up across a diverse range of categories, with Bright Brewery winning its second gold in the Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries category.

Smythe said “the success of the North East at the awards is a testament to the region and the communities who work collectively across the high country to promote the unique landscape, environment and the rich diversity of the tourism offerings in the area.”

The RACV award for the resort follows on from another of the industry’s highest accolades, the World Ski Awards, where Astra Falls Creek were thrilled to be awarded for the 3rd consecutive year, Best Australian Ski Boutique Hotel 2018.

Following recognition at the State level, the Resort will now head to Launceston in 2019, to compete for National recognition at the 2018 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards in Launceston on March 1st, 2019.
