Stakeholder Operations Update | 26 October

Dear Falls Creek Stakeholders,

Falls Creek Alpine Resort (FCAR) wishes to advise that there are no further updates on resort and road access after this afternoon's meeting with the authorities.

What we can share is that a Geotech assessment has taken place and the Department of Transport is currently reviewing it. There is no change to the safety status and therefore the northern access route of the Bogong High Plains Road will remain closed.

Essential services within the resort are as follows:

Post Office

  • Open on Monday and Thursday each week, commencing next Monday (31/10).
  • A delivery is still taking place this Friday (28/10).
  • Opening hours for these days are 12pm-5pm (approximately)
  • Please call the post office for any queries next week (the phone will be diverted).

On the 7th & 10th of November, these hours will likely be reduced to 11:30am - 1pm. Keep an eye on the Falls Creek Staff and Local's Facebook page for any updates.

Pharmacy Deliveries

Confirmation is still pending but it is likely these deliveries and collection will now be aligned with the above Post Office opening hours. More information to follow once they have been confirmed.

Foodworks Supermarket

The supermarket's operations will be:

  • Monday and Thursday from 11:30am to 1pm
  • The opening hour may differ slightly if travel time by staff to the resort is delayed at all
  • These operating hours commence next Monday (31/10)
  • Foodworks encourage you to place an online order via their website https://mountbeauty.myfoodworks.com.au/ by the end of day Thursday for delivery on Monday or end of day Tuesday for delivery on Friday
  • Orders will be available for collection at the store in Falls Creek during the operating hours noted above.
  • All deliveries are free of charge while the road closure is in place, only a pick & pack fee will be applied.
  • The delivery vehicle is a refrigerated vehicle but not a freezer unit therefore, frozen items should only be ordered if consumed as per the manufacturer's guidelines once thawed.
