Cup Weekend Resort Operations

Pending Weather Event

Due to the forecasted adverse weather conditions over the Melbourne Cup long weekend, Falls Creek Alpine Resort (FCAR) would like to advise stakeholders of operations during this period.

Road Clearing Operations:

  • FCAR will be actively clearing the Bogong High Plains Road from Falls Creek to Trapyard Gap to maintain access to the resort (including Tuesday)
  • Priority snow clearing will be given to the Bogong High Plains Road over the village roads.
  • All cars must be removed from the village by 12pm Monday 31st of October
  • Move cars to the parking along the Bogong High Plains Road
  • Please carry chains and fit them if road conditions require it

Avoided Unnecessary Travel:

  • Avoid travel Monday evening through until Wednesday as this is when the worst of the storm is forecast
  • We are advising non-residents not to visit Falls Creek this weekend due to the weather conditions and risks associated

At this stage, the supermarket and post office operations will still take place as per yesterday’s email. Any changes will be communicated once we have been advised by the operators.
