Area Closure for Pest Animal Management Within Falls Creek Resort – 23-27 October 2023

Pest animals damage the unique alpine habitat and pose a risk to the threatened fauna and flora within Falls Creek Alpine Resort and the surrounding Alpine National Park. As part of the ongoing integrated pest  management program, Falls Creek Alpine Resort is undertaking ground shooting operations within a section of the Resort. Control operations are scheduled to occur between Monday 23rd and Friday 27th October 2023 inclusive. 

An area of Falls Creek Alpine Resort (see map) will be closed between 23-27 October (inclusive) to ensure public safety during ground shooting operations, targeting deer, feral cats, and foxes. This includes:

  • The lower elevation section of Road 24
  • The lower elevation section of Frying Pan Spur walking trail below the Trig Point to Bogong High Plains Road
  • Flowtown MTB trail
  • Downtown MTB trail
  • Skyline MTB trail
  • High Voltage MTB trail
