Dog Authority Permits 2022
Dear Falls Creek Community,
Thank you for your patience in 2021 with the implementation of the changes to the Dog Policy and documentation requirements.
In 2021, the Dog Policy was amended to require all applicants to provide written Head Lessee consent confirming that dogs are allowed in accommodation complexes. We thank you for your cooperation and compliance with this new requirement that will now continue in future years for new applications.
As a result of feedback provided in previous years, Falls Creek Resort Management have been working to create a new online platform. Unfortunately, this new platform will not be ready for the 2022 winter season and the paper forms will remain for this year.
However, for 2021 permit holders whose details have not changed, a renewal form is available for 2022. Please select the relevant application form and submit to [email protected].
FCRM have also compiled a list of FAQ’s to assist with questions regarding the updated policy. See here: DOG FAQ and Where Can I Take My Dog – Map
You can also view a copy of the Falls Creek Dog Policy by clicking here.
Please download and complete the 2022 form and submit via email to landmanagement@fallscreek.com.au.
Processed applications will be ready for collection from Wednesday 15th June 2022.
All applications will be subject to a 10 day (business days Mon-Fri) processing period. A staff member will be in touch when they are ready for collection.
Important information:
- All permit holders will be required to use an identifiable FCRM lead (issued to approved permit holders) whenever a lead is required to be used in the resort.
- All permit applications will be subject to a 10 business day processing period.
- No permit applications will be accepted and processed on Opening Weekend.
- For existing 2021 permit holders, an amnesty period will be in place until the end of June to ensure applications are submitted.
FCRM would like to take this opportunity to remind community that cats and other pets are prohibited within the resort. Domestic cats within the resort, or dogs failing to comply with the conditions of their authority will be subject to significant fines and/or the potential seizure of the animal.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
FCRM implements a year round fox control program using poison baits containing sodium fluroacetate (1080). The program has been run in conjunction with Parks Victoria for many years in an effort to protect the endangered Mountain Pygmy Possum and other native species.
The poison bait products are used in accordance with product labels and the directions for the use of 1080 and PAPP Pest Animal Bait Products in Victoria, and risks to domestic dogs are reduced. However, there is some associated risk and dog owners are advised;
- Complying with the conditions of authority will reduce the risk of dogs accessing baits.
- Active restraint may be needed to ensure that domestic dogs do not gain access to 1080 pest animal baits or poisoned animals.
- 1080 may remain active in poisoned animals and or baits for several weeks depending on prevailing environmental conditions.
- Over time 1080 is leached from the baits with rain and degraded by bacteria and moulds.
- Your animals may be poisoned if they eat 1080 baits or poisoned animals.
- It is unusual for domestic pets to ravage fox carcasses.
- Closely monitor the health and behaviour of pets and contact a local veterinarian immediately if you notice any unusual or uncharacteristic behaviour.
FCRM can provide more detailed information on the fox control program as requested.
Kind regards,
Falls Creek Resort Management.
